Sending SMS via Processes

The MODLR function library has built-in functions for SMS notifications. The SMS functionality allows text messages to be sent out in supported countries.

The documentation for the SMS function can be found here.

WARNING

Due to the regulations of service providers in some countries, SMS services are disabled by default. To have the SMS system enabled, please contact a MODLR admin with the use case for SMS to have it reviewed.

Job Completion

The SMS system can be used to notify users when a job/process has been completed. When performing large data loads, or other long processes, it can be set up to send at SMS to users upon completion allowing users to be up to date with MODLR's status without having to watch a logs page.

Warning System

The SMS functionality can be utilised to warn admin users when an issue is occurring so it may be resolved. An example of this is when MODLR is connected to a system and the system becomes unresponsive to MODLR, a notification can be sent via SMS to relevant users. This will allow the unresponsive system to be diagnosed and fixed so that reporting can be back up and running as quickly as possible.

General Notifications

The SMS system can be be used for general notifications like the budgeting period starting, or the end of month roll over.
